Methodology for Measuring Productivity Growth with Sustainability
Given the need to combine productivity growth with environmental and social sustainability, some sectors of the Brazilian economy have already demonstrated that it is possible to achieve productivity gains with lower greenhouse gas emissions. However, it is essential to stimulate productivity in a sustainable way.
To this end, the project Sustainability-Adjusted Productivity developed a Methodological Note that presents an approach to measure productivity gains adjusted for socio-environmental sustainability, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and international agreements on climate change mitigation and adaptation.
The proposed methodology serves as an important tool for evaluating public policies, government interventions, and the performance of economic sectors and incentivized regions.
