Thermal Comfort and Mortality in Brazil
This study investigated the association between thermal comfort indices and mortality from circulatory and respiratory diseases in Brazil (2003–2017). Four thermal indices were used to assess regional variations in the impacts of heat and cold. The results show that both heat and cold increase mortality, with the greatest effect occurring in the first days of exposure. These findings can guide public policies to reduce the impact of climate change on health.
