Contributions to Climate Action in Brazil
The project, a result of the partnership between FGVces, MMA, MCTI, and the Civil House of the Presidency of the Republic (CC/PR), aims to contribute to the development of the National Mitigation Strategy 2024/2035 and the Sectoral Mitigation Plans, which will cover seven sectors of the Brazilian economy: agriculture, land use, cities, waste, transportation, energy, and industry. FGVces’s role within the Climate Plan, in its mitigation dimension, focuses on fostering engagement and encouraging dialogue among different segments of society, which, in addition to the federal government, include organized civil society, the private sector, academia, and subnational entities.
The main activities comprising the project are:
- Seminar for the Presentation of the National Mitigation Strategy (ENM) – held on May 28, 2024;
- Eight technical workshops to collect contributions for the Sectoral Mitigation Plans (PSM) – dates to be confirmed;
- Interviews with relevant stakeholders and experts to support the development of the Cross-Cutting Strategy for Climate Action (focused on mitigation);
