Urban Heat & Vulnerability: Advancing Climate Justice Through Inclusive and Resilient Adaptation
Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) invites you to the panel “Urban Heat & Vulnerability: Advancing Climate Justice Through Inclusive and Resilient Adaptation”, part of the official COP30 program.
The session will explore how cities such as Rio de Janeiro and Helsinki can lead the climate agenda by integrating public policy, finance, and insurance to build urban resilience in the face of the increasing frequency and intensity of extreme weather events.
Drawing on global examples and investigative journalism, the discussion will highlight how inclusive adaptation — grounded in sustainable urban planning, early warning systems, resilient infrastructure, and practices such as water reuse and circular economy — can drive a just transition, ensuring that the benefits of climate policies reach all segments of society.
The panel will bring together experts and decision-makers committed to climate justice and urban resilience, fostering an international dialogue on practical solutions to address urban heat and its social inequalities.
