About the event

COP30 will feature a dedicated program on aquatic food systems. In total, around thirty thematic panels on fisheries and aquaculture will take place across the Blue Zone, Green Zone, and AgriZone, bringing together representatives from governments, international organizations, the private sector, academia, and various segments of civil society, including representatives of Indigenous peoples, extractive reserves, riverside communities, and associations of family farmers and artisanal fishers. Most of these sessions will occur during the second week of the conference, which is dedicated to ocean, agriculture, and food security issues. As part of this program, twelve panels will be organized by the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture, with support from national and international partners.

The panel “Algae: Aquatic Bioinputs” aims to discuss strategies for developing algaculture as both a mitigation and adaptation approach, highlighting the contributions of aquatic foods and bioinputs to the promotion of more resilient and climate-adapted food systems.
