Join us in our hashtag#AgriZone event at COP30 Brazil in Belem on 13 November, at Auditorium 2, 16:40-17:55, for our session “Alliance Brazil and EU to promote Carbon farming practices via public policies based on science” 

The session coordinated by Suzanne REYNDERS (Head of Soil Carbon Futures), Beata Madari and Marcia T M Carvalho (Researchers at Embrapa Rice&Beans) will be introduced by Thierry Caquet (INRAE’s VP international) and Bruno Brasil (Director of Sustainable Production and Irrigation at the Ministerio da Agricultura - MAPA).

Daniel Barcelos Vargas (Fundação Getulio Vargas - FGV) will focus on science policy interface: towards a regulated Brazilian Carbon Farming framework
Carlos Eduardo Cerri (Universidade de São PauloCCARBON/USP - Center for Carbon Research in Tropical Agriculture) will present challenges of MRV in general terms
Luis Barioni (Embrapa) will explain the challenges of carbon modelling and the path towards the development of tools for monitoring Carbon Farming in Brazil
Suzanne REYNDERS (INRAE) will explain the challenges of monitoring SOC stock changes and how do France and Europe cope with it? The importance of remote sensing approaches.


Discussion will be facilitated by Thierry Caquet (INRAE’s VP international). Silvia Massruhá (President of Embrapa) will close the event with the concluding remarks TBC.
