FGV Holds the 3rd Business Forum on Climate Change Adaptation
On May 5 and 6, the Center for Sustainability Studies of Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGVces) will host the third edition of the Business Forum on Climate Change Adaptation, bringing together business leaders, government representatives, experts, and civil society organizations to discuss progress, challenges, and next steps in advancing the climate adaptation agenda in Brazil.
The event, which will take place at the São Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV EAESP), aims to take stock of the current state of climate change adaptation and its implications for corporate strategy, with a focus on moving from discussion to the implementation of concrete actions. The program will address key themes for advancing the agenda, such as climate justice, ecosystem-based adaptation, and the strengthening of inter- and intrasectoral collaboration among companies, governments, research institutions, and civil society organizations.
One of the highlights of the Forum will be the launch of the platform of the Brazilian Program for Corporate Reporting on Climate Change Adaptation (PBRA), an initiative designed to support and guide the business sector in reporting information on climate-related risks, impacts, and responses, in alignment with national and international climate governance instruments.
The Forum takes place in a context of growing momentum for the adaptation agenda in Brazil, particularly following COP 30, held in 2025 in Belém (PA), which repositioned adaptation at the center of international climate negotiations. In Brazil, this momentum is reflected in the consolidation of public policies such as the Climate Plan – Mitigation and Adaptation, the Brazilian Sustainable Taxonomy, and regulatory advances related to the disclosure of climate-related risks in the financial sector.
Throughout its trajectory, FGVces has been active in the climate adaptation agenda since 2013, developing applied research, tools to support corporate management, participatory processes, capacity-building initiatives, and multisectoral collaboration. The Business Forum on Climate Change Adaptation builds on this legacy and establishes itself as a reference space for qualified debate and the development of solutions to address climate risks in the country.
