Continuing the discussion initiated during London Climate Action Week 2026, this roundtable in São Paulo will bring together a range of participants—including researchers, policymakers, regulators, multilateral organizations, and insurance industry leaders—to delve into the challenges and opportunities posed by climate change. Hosted by FGV and CNseg, the event will focus on applying scientific knowledge to risk modeling within the Brazilian context.
 

The panel will address seven key thematic areas:
 

1. Insurance as a financing tool for municipal climate adaptation and resilience
2. Intensity of extreme events: the El Niño case
3. Droughts and heatwaves in regions strategic to sustainable agriculture and livestock farming
4. Water security in major metropolitan areas
5. Extreme rainfall volumes in the São Paulo metropolitan area
6. Econometric models for measuring climate risks and the economic-financial impacts of extreme events
7. Contributions to the Adapta Brasil Platform
 

The debate will gather economists, climatologists, agronomists, administrators, and other researchers for a direct dialogue with industry companies, regulators, and policymakers, aiming to contribute to the development of climate-resilient urban and rural infrastructure.
