About the event

Country Platforms have increasingly established themselves as an important mechanism for mobilizing investments aligned with national development and climate action priorities.

The first Country Platforms focused on climate finance emerged in 2021, with South Africa’s Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP). Since then, this agenda has gained momentum. In 2024, Brazil launched its Brazil Climate Investment and Ecological Transformation Platform (BIP).

As experience with these platforms grows, a fundamental question comes to the forefront: What do countries developing and implementing these platforms really need to know to ensure their effective operation?

To address this question, FGVces conducted a study to identify the main challenges, knowledge gaps, and needs related to the implementation of the BIP in Brazil. The study was carried out as part of an international research network bringing together countries from Africa, Asia, and Latin America that have also established their own Country Platforms.

The event aims to present and discuss the key findings of this study.
