About the event

Insurance as a Protection Instrument for Agricultural Production in the Context of Climate Transition: Challenges for Brazil and International Best Practices

The panel “Insurance as a Protection Instrument for Agricultural Production in the Context of Climate Transition: Challenges for Brazil and International Best Practices” will be part of the official program of the Casa de Seguros, recognized as the “Insurance Embassy” at COP30. Conceived as a strategic hub for content, business connection, and partnerships, the Casa aims to highlight the insurance sector’s role in the climate transition.

This panel will explore the strategic role of agricultural insurance in mitigating risks amid the impacts of the climate transition. The discussion will address Brazil’s key challenges in expanding coverage and access to protection instruments for the agricultural sector, as well as present international best practices that can inspire public policies, financial innovations, and more effective and sustainable insurance models. The session aims to foster debate on how agricultural insurance can serve as a driver of climate resilience — supporting productivity, sustainability, and food security in a context of increasing climate instability.
